A
radical
solution
for
an awkward
house
on a
tiny
site.
A quarter
of the
old
house
was
demolished,
and
a new
two
storey,
pitched
roof
extension
was
grafted
on at
45°,
following
the
levels
of the
old
roof
and
relating
the
house
much
better
to its
corner
site.
Construction:
post
and
beamtimber
frame
with
woodwool
infill
panels
rendered
externally
with
lime/sand
render.
Structural
timbers
are
protected
from
the
weather
by larch
sacrificial
timbers. |
